Join David down in Rutland to photograph Osprey’s diving to catch fish at a private hide, a few miles from Rutland Water in the late afternoon/evening until dusk. The hide is situated at the end of a pond at water level, has seating and shelving and toilet facilities on site.
We have the services of a professional spotter who will keep us informed of any Ospreys in the area and when they are coming into dive.
In terms of camera kit we typically shoot at 300mm (full frame) or 200mm (crop sensor), so lenses such as 70-200mm, 200mm prime, 300mm prime, 70-300mm, 100-400mm and 150-600mm are ideal. The Osprey can dive and catch a fish and fly away in 8-10 seconds in low light. Ideally use a camera with a fast frame rate and your fastest lens.
